The Arkansas hound dog that hasn't barked . . . yet.

Official Portrait of William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States.

We have yet to hear any sage advice from Billy Jeff Clinton about the Gunwalker Scandal. This is somewhat strange to this observer, particularly since many of the major players -- his alleged wife, Eric Holder, Lanny Breuer, Janet Napolitano, Rahm Emanuel and others -- are, or were, Clintonistas who cut their eye teeth on Clinton-era scandal cover-ups.

Presumably we should have heard something by now if the Arkansas Rambler were disposed to risk his own political legacy to defend the political prospects of Hillary.

And yet, he hasn't.

Say what you will about Billy Jeff, his political instincts are unerring. And he certainly has been following the development of the scandal. No political junkie who knows most of the main participants personally would fail to do so.

If Mr. Bill is willing to let Hillary and the Obamanoids twist in the wind it is because either,

a. He's holding himself back for the desperate time that he's really needed, or,

b. He is content to watch the self-immolation of the participants from afar lest his own reputational coat get singed.

("Keep smiling . . . Maybe nobody will notice . . . Keep SMILING . . . At least NBC won't report it . . . Oh, Gaia it hurts! . . . Keep smiling.")

It does take a certain amount of courage over calculation to embrace someone whose hair is on fire.

And Clinton's memoirs should have been titled, Profiles in Calculation. This time, it seems -- at least for now -- calculation has once again won out over courage.

"Look, Hillary, why should I come to the rescue of you people? It won't work anyway, and I'll end up looking silly as hell. Besides, Obama's screw-ups make me look GOOD."

I don't get all the "Oh, Gaia!" comments on this blog. I AM a Neo-Pagan Earth-worshipper, and I can tell you, Obama isn't. (He is a damn liar though.)
