"Mao Tse-tung — The Unknown Story of How the Chairman led China to Communist Hell."

Mao — The Unknown Story by Jung Chang and Jon Halliday. This one looks like it will be a good read.
Among the many revelations, Mao — The Unknown Story depicts and documents Chairman Mao as the brutal monster he really was; how Mao desolated his own country and exterminated his own people, party cadres and impoverished peasants alike, even whole Red Army regiments. Mao committed in his blind rage whatever crimes were necessary to attain and preserve supreme political power. "Democracy," "justice," "equality," " fraternity," "freedom" were just words to be used for propaganda purposes, not ideals to be pursued by Chinese communists.

WOW, this does look like a good read. It's our young people who should brush-up on what communist regimes were really like. Another good read for young folks, albeit an older book, is "The Gulag Archipelago". One week living under animals like Mao, and our Marxist indoctrinated, video game playing youth would be crying for mamma and apple pie....

And don't think for a minute that Obama doesn't know it all ... It's why Mao is one of his idols.
That Mao murdered a hundred million or so in his quest for power is, to Obama and his cohorts, a feature, not a bug.

Looking forward to reading!
The Long March was my first foray into Mao's ascension. Any leader who would force march one million starving armed peasants across China would be a force to be reckoned with.
Unspoken cruelty, brutality, rape, forced prostitution, mass murder, arson and armed robbery, burning villages/cities that resisted the forced confiscation of their entire agricultural harvest and farm support. Wanton acts of pure political barbarism.
Gotta love the commies. NO ONE on this earth does it like they do.
Although, radical islam is working hard to catch up.
Thanks for the tip on summer readings!

It is a good read. Many footnotes and bibliography from non-English sources. Depressing because it is so close.

An added comment. Jung Chang's first book, "Wild Swans" was good also which is why I read her second book "The Unknown Story of Mao". It is the story of her family's life in China before and after her father was denounced. She left China as an adult and went to England if memory serves me. If this (China) was heaven, she wanted to see what hell was like.

Like all Communists. Castro was the same: anything to take and keep power. Here's another good one "Family Portrait with Fidel", by the editor of his movement's newpaper, "Revolucion". Have to get it used from Amazon. The author later left the country.

Screw you, as a young-in', we have to clean up the political trash of the so called "baby boomers" in CON-gress and the SIN-et who are BOOMING all over our country. What is the youngest person in Con-gress and the youngest in the SIN-et?

BTW, I have been exposed to more freedom versus tyranny playing video games than in waterred down novels and movies. Video games are about as free market as you can get as the Communists don't care about video games like they do the auto industry, coal industry, etc.

1 week under a communist regime and I am ready for war. Us spoiled brat generation will slaughter, burn, and maim rather than just walk into the camps like the pathetic wusses during WW2. Some of us have murdered when you try to take away our video games

Its important to relaize that Mao was likely a coward. It takes a certain amount of balls to risk death and dis-memberment engaging in active oppression like our current KKKpolice do. Mao probably through tantrums but I doubt he joined his forces on the fields of battle as he probably had nightly cocktail dinners and from his paintings, defientely looked like a chubby pussy. Never forget that the decision makers are almost gurenteed to be complete cowards.
