A "Happy New Year" from an advocate of the death of you and yours. It takes a particular kind of self-obsessed fanaticism to wish blood and death on your own people.

From the allegedly previously-sane Paul Craig Roberts: "In my view, Russia and China owe it to the world to prevent the nuclear war that the neoconservatives who control US policy intend by simply replying in kind to Washington’s economic warfare. Russia and China hold all the cards. Not Washington. Russia and China should give no warning. They should just act. Indeed, instead of step by step, they should just let loose all barrels at once. With four US banks holding derivatives totaling many times world GDP, the financial explosion would be the equivalent to a nuclear one. The US would be finished, and the world would be saved. Larchmonter is correct. 2015 could be a very good year."
"Saved?" And the results of this "saving" would be what, exactly? Certainly it would involve mass casualties to American citizens as the country collapsed in an orgy of fratricidal, even cannibalistic, violence. "The world would be saved?" Just how is it that Roberts is defining his world? It takes a particular kind of self-obsessed fanaticism to wish blood and death on your own people. It is one thing to point out the dangers of the reckless behaviors of our self-appointed "elites." It is quite another to ADVOCATE the mega-deaths of innocents that such economic warfare successfully waged by the collectivist enemies of all Americans -- of all the peoples of the entire world -- would NECESSITATE. The society, OUR society (and presumably Roberts' own society), could not survive such a shock. The social and political disintegration caused would have a body count -- in our own country alone -- well beyond the global total of both world wars of the 20th Century combined. Our people, HIS people, would die by the tens if not hundreds of millions.
I checked. This is not April Fool's Day. This man is serious. He really wishes this upon his own friends and neighbors. Happy New Year's Day, folks. You, and everyone you know and care about, would be dead as a result of Roberts' advocated plan (or if "lucky," grubbing out a starvation existence in the rubble) but the "world would be saved." Doesn't that make you feel better? Aren't you now willing, now that Roberts has explained it all to you, to die with all your family, friends and loved ones, for his well-intentioned fatal vision?

WOW ..... talk about "killer tomatoes"! This guy has a lust for blood that ISIS might even find disturbing. Typical commie bastard, wants to destroy America and bring about Stalins "workers paradise". What is it about the communist ideology that makes them want to kill millions of people and enslave the rest into a mindless worker bee. This guy needs to have his neighbors show up complete with torches and pitchforks and a good strong rope. At least these "useful idiots" are coming out of the closet so that others which do not understand, can get a look at the ugly side of reality.

I would choose worldwide economic collapse over nuclear war every time.

Roberts is talking about the fraud that is the federal govt. The control they have over our lives, the deceitful way they manipulate statistics, the freebees and giveaways to large corporations and community activists.

Roberts has had enough of the dishonesty, and his call for Russia and China to collapse the banks is just his way of asking for a day of reckoning, after which a return to free market capitalism that built this country can be attempted.

Roberts is a breath of fresh air. You two are natural allies.

I think Mr. Roberts went off the rails with his comment but he seems to be terrified of a currency collapse . He has a right to be terrified . A couple of great books on the subject are "When Money Dies, writing about Weimar Germany 1922-23 . Also the The Alpha Strategy writing about inflation in the late 1970s . The French Revolution was brought on when bread doubled in price from 2 sous to 4 sous . Great quote from France 1791 " A disease more permanently injurious to a nation than war , pestilence or famine .
The Central bankers around the world have lost control . A Japanese 10 year bond is essentially 0%. Most of Europe has negative 2 year bonds.
The US is the shiniest turd in the bucket but we have 18 trillion nails in our coffin .
Mr. Roberts seems to want the end of this financial insanity at all costs and he maybe onto something.

Dear Anonymous Economic Collapse Lover: There would be no difference in the outcome; you would be dead either way. And your family, and all your friends, along with the rest of the 90% of the population that would perish.

I cannot comprehend such hate.

The end game of ALL leftists is mass killing. They are deluded enough to think that only those who share their appetite for eliminating everyone who doesn't share their insanity will survive.
Little do they realize that THEY are most likely to be eliminated when they make their move.

Paul Craig Roberts has just given the same analysis that the US has used in its first strike wars, while expressing frustration with many of the American people - especially the Neocons - who allow, and even encourage, this criminal government in its never ending war and subjugation of other countries in the interests of the Bankster Cartel and the MNC's they own. None of which will benefit America in the least, should by some miracle they are successful.

I think the reality is, however, that Obama and Putin are working behind the scenes to give Russia (and China) the provocation and cover they want to carry out this destruction of America. All the while the Neocons are supporting the effort that will result in that destruction.

I think Roberts is just expressing the frustration of trying to warn of what is happening, while at the same time watching various groups in the US bringing this disaster upon themselves, and the rest of us, in their ill conceived plans.

Given Mr. Roberts studious analysis and persistent warnings, his endless work on behalf of America - rather than the Banks and MNCs that have taken over it and its government - and his tireless work on behalf of the American people, I think it is a disingenuous exaggeration to take this quote out of the context all of his previous work and say that he's "an advocate of the death of you and yours" and that "It takes a particular kind of self-obsessed fanaticism to wish blood and death on your own people."

Why don't we just gather the circular firing squad now? That's exactly what Mr. Roberts sees happening, is warning about, and all too many Americans are willing to do just that.

Kill 99% of the Homo Sapiens on the planet so "Gaia" can heal herself? Not exactly a new idea.

Read "Rainbow 6" by Tom Clancy.

And that was only the first example that came to mind.

But just in case you're thinking no one out there is as crazy as some of Clancy's plot lines, read "Executive Orders".

Oh come on! We... will be/are our own undoing. Face it. Embrace the... suck.

Do you love it... do you hate it... there it is, the way you made it.

Word: They are acting. They are creating. They are framing their reality around you. And we … we bark at the end of our leashes. Our ambition for freedumb is at the end of our leash.

Every day that America continues in its lies and filth, is another day closer to its reckoning.

You might not like it. You might not accept it. But, there it is.

Ya know, even the prophets of old cried for their people. But it always came to the point when he stopped crying, and pronounced judgement. There is a point of no return. There comes a time when enough, is enough.

Who do we think we are? Gods thousand points of light on top of a mountain radiating Gods righteousness and holiness throughout the world? We have become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird.

And look at us. We approve of it.

Look around you. ...who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Ain't that America? Ain't that its people? Or are you blind?

Ef patriotism. Seriously, take a good hard look around you. Isn't it obvious that Americans approve of its filth? That it approves of its blind leaders? Isn't it obvious?

They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.

Murica!

Isn't it obvious that we approve of their works?

Anyone who follows Paul Craig Roberts knows that he stands for America. This post is the equivalent of strategic satire, almost certainly designed to use a pointed stick to wake readers up. That he doesn't say so is in line with satirists and gadflys the historic world over. Washington is apparently the sick flashpoint of almost unstoppable greed, cynicism and delusional policy that he has always beat his head against the wall over. Most congressmen just have no clue what they are up against, those who want to do something about it. It's a labyrinth of intentions and bureaucracy to hold such firebrands as Ron Paul at bay for decades while still permitting him to remain alive--unlike other systems where he would have closed the window behind him before jumping to his death. If Roberts' rhetoric is extreme, it's probably because so is the hour, as her sees it. And there's plenty of reason to understand his pessimism, though not share in it. The job is still to revert the course of the nation, and keep faith it can be done. Paul Roberts reminds me of the historian Will Durant who in his final days and writings had just about thrown his hands up regarding the human race, but clearly believed that stating the truth at least justified him in continuing his old age. Roberts may be in a similar space, but it would be misunderstanding him to think he really wishes death and destruction on the American population. Rather I believe he thinks some radical language might knock a few out of their ipad-consumed culture long enough to find some more Ron Pauls somewhere.

The psychopathic elite running the Anglo-American banking alliance may rather choose all out nuclear war over the lose of control an economic meltdown will bring. These guys are as nuts as a Nero or Caligula, and they seem to think their endless miles of bunkers under the Rockies and Ozarks ( and Lord knows where else) make the nuclear option a safe bet for them. As usual, it's up to us to batten down our hatches the best we can and do a whole lot of praying...So praise the Lord boys! (and pass the ammunition)

Mike, I pointed out to you in a comment (which you declined to approve) that the current conflict in the Ukraine is NOT due to the aggression of Russia, but America.

Your unwillingness to approve (much less respond personally to my comment with so much as an "F U," led me to write an essay last week, where I make the case of what's REALLY going on (we're already in the middle of a world war, currently of a financial nature).

That essay is at https://capitalisteric.wordpress.com/2014/12/27/if-you-can-control-the-money-you-can-control-an-empire/

We are currently faced with one of two choices:

1. A financial war with the East, which we cannot win, as the Western banking systems are hopelessly corrupt and bankrupt, or

2. A hot war with the East.

Losing the currency war will have devastating repercussions, to be sure. A hot (nuclear) war means global annihilation. Some choice, eh?

From that perspective, yeah, I agree with Roberts' take. His analysis is logical, clear-headed and correct.

There is only one option, to stop one of the two from happening: a hot CW2 in America, to hopefully avoid the worst consequences which are coming down the pike. If we can clean up our OWN sh!t before outside countries have to do so, we might avoid the worst of what's coming. But.... given the sheepish nature of most folks, I don't think it'll happen until it's too late.

I see the situation (macro-scale) as the difference between slow-kill and fast-change.

We are living the totalitarian slow-kill. The US middle class hardly exists (as I exempt tax-feeders who have State-paid positions delivering "middle-class wages" as parasites not producers). Bread lines are virtualized so that EBT cards buy like (or better than!) earned income and swipe in a reader to avoid the shame of USDA coupon books visible to other customers in line. Shame is a good motivator for those with a remaining spark of self. I'd like top see the entitled classes/masses be told what's what. Work or don't eat.

The rest of the world has long felt the pain of debt payable only in unobtainable foreign currency. Only the US could "make" money from nothing and spend it first. Our banksters did it too much, and the chickens have come home to roost.

Trust is what lacks. People who matter understand that commodity in hand doesn't require trust or enforcement, it's a face-to-face trade with no follow-up. PM's make this not-barter. Trust can build later, but trade and eating is needed.

A fast economic crash like 1921 would hurt. Lots of BK, lots of fast auctions, lots of unemployment, but within 9 months, it's over. Git to work.

Mike,

I've been reading your work for several years now, and I pray for you and Rosie daily.

I believe Roberts' intentions should be very familiar to you. You are the writer who introduced me to the idea of the "useful dire warning."

May the Lord bless your work.

PCR is, alternately, praised and demonized. The first because he is one of the few "insiders" from gummint who tells it like it is, which is always to the great dismay of those perpetrating what he critiques, so they must marshal the press and the greatly muddled "America - Right or Wrong" crowd to accuse him of all manner of untruths.

Except - what he says is happening right before our eyes.

We WILL have to deal with it, no matter what one thinks of PCR.

Curtis nailed it. As I stated in a comment a few days ago, America, the III movement, taking back our government, all the things we are saying we SHOULD do, MUST do, mean NOTHING unless we acknowledge our Creator and His absolute dominion over this earth and universe.
Jesus said, "Apart from Me, you can do NOTHING! How much clearer can it be, folks?
Again, stock all the beans, bullets, and band aids you want, if your soul isn't right with God right NOW, you are, to put it bluntly, SCREWED.

Mike, I believe you are misreading Roberts somewhat.

The question is not *whether* the US house-of-cards economy collapses, but *when*. In Robert's eyes, better for it to happen before Washington starts a nuclear war with Russia and China, than after. This does not seem unreasonable.

Of course it assumes that 1) the economy actually will collapse in any case, and 2) the mad dogs in Washington are going to push Russia and China so hard that a war will start.

I think the economy WILL collapse, and the thinking at Mises Institute has always been that the earlier the collapse happens the less damage it will cause - going further into debt as we are currently doing will make things worse as time goes on.

Whether Washington will play the game of nuclear chicken with Russia and China intelligently is another question. Kennedy did it right (despite bad advice from some of his Strangelovian generals) but would Hillary, for example? Those people are living in an echo chamber. I personally don't want to live through another cold war, nor have my child wondering, like I did, if he would see the missiles coming down before they killed him.

Roberts' main concern is clearly nuclear war. It's mine too. There is no recovery from that.
